*Flax seed multi grain wheat bread*  
so i've been trying to empty out the pantry full of food that i bought, since i'm moving out soon..... one of them is a bag of 'FLAX SEED' that i bought.... used a couple of times, and never finished it.... hmmm supposedly flax seed is packed with omega oils and nutrients... etc... so why not finish it up, right? and while making the bread, i also threw in all the nutritious stuff in the pantry like rolled oats, picans, raisins, black sesame... etc ----> a great way to clean out the pantry once and for all~~~^^ Flaxseed multi grain wheat bread.... tasty~~ would be great with a bowl of butternut squash soup... on a chilly day. very hearty and filling~~ RECIPE: 1 1/4 C warm water, 2TB brown sugar (or honey), 1C bread flour, 2C wheat flour, 1 1/2 tsp salt, 1/3C flax seed (grounded), 2tsp yeat + raisins, nuts, seeds, etc put in bread machine for dough cycle up until 1st rise, take out the dough, puch out gas and shape the dough make slits with a knife, and go for 2nd rise Bake at 375F for 20-25 min. *Flax Seed Chocholate chip cookies + flax seed cinnamon raisin cookies* 
Now, a loaf of bread is good for a meal..... but for a snack, this isn't bad either.... well if one HAS to have a choc chip cookie.... then i figure whole wheat, flax seed, choc chip cookies will at least be good for your health a bit... (yes, the same amount of butter and sugar goes in... but oh well.....- -;;;) the base of the dough is the same for both... or any other variations for that matter RECIPE: 1 C Shortening (butter can be used intead), 1C brown sugar, 1/2C granulated sugar, 1tsp vanilla, 2 eggs, 2C whole wheat flour, 1tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/4C flax seed well this is the base.... i divided it in half and added 1C of chocolate chips to one and 2tsp cinnamon and raisins to the other.... chill the dough for at least 1/2 hour, bake at 350F for 10-12 min..... personal opinion: I think this taste better than the regular choc chip cookies.... ^^ |
